Join me in this practice that takes no more that 8 min. This breathing practice is especially helpful for regulating the nervous system and the emphasis is on the exhalation and diaphragmatic process. We will find the links between science and emotions and will breakdown proper breathing techniques and cues.

In fact, this practice has changed my life. In my early years I was orphaned to gun violence and suicide. Traumatic events continued to leave me anxious and permeated my family and career. Thankfully, I discovered these specific breathing tools while teaching Kindergarten and I continue to practice and share them in and outside of classrooms. As a former classroom educator of 10 years I have been blessed to share these breathing techniques with thousands of students and teachers. In teaching these techniques, I quickly realized that these tools were a missing piece in the educational community and on a national level. So I created a curriculum - Brain Healthy Breathing. The feedback has been remarkable and I am certain that it is my life work. When done properly you’ll reap the benefits within minutes. And you’ll want to share it with those you educate and your loved ones.

So often we try to help sooth our students suggesting a BIG or deep breath in, however, if the body and brain are in heighten state, the body/brain will NOT regulate-because of the hyper breath. We need to show how to do it properly and sometimes that requires the opposite of what our bodies know.

The educational community is the perfect platform to show up as our best selves and implement these simple, self regulating tools too neutralize our nervous systems and internal conflicts. When we practice we encourage others to do the same.

Thank you for all that you do in the educational world. I look forward to

Exhale.
