How to Plan a Standards-Based Lesson
The goal of this session is to help teachers understand how to use the standards to plan a lesson. We’ll use an easy-to-understand process to unpack a standard, align instruction and assessment with the standard, and embed assessment into instruction. Come ready to move because this is an activity-based session! Once the lesson is planned, we’ll try it out so you can experience first-hand what standards-based instruction truly looks like! Audience: K-12 teachers.

Learning Objective/Outcome
Participants will:
• Become familiar with an easy-to-follow model for planning a standards-based lesson
• Take away ideas for how to embed assessment into instruction in their own lessons
• Experience a standards-based lesson

During this session Tim Warnock will share his perspective on the role Physical Educators can play in addressing the mental and emotional health crisis that was at epidemic proportions before covid. He will touch on the journey to SB 1468 The Mitch Warnock Act in honor of his son. The place that exercise, and mindfulness has played in his journey through cPTS. Tim will share various techniques he is implementing within his class currently. The Be Nice program will also be featured during this presentation as well. This session will touch on some very difficult subject matter but will also provide you perspective and tools that empower students to turn to exercise for coping mechanisms. Neuroscience Leads the Way- Regulating the Nervous System
Neuroscience Leads the way will be a tremendous breakthrough session. I have had the opportunity to share Self Regulations practices and Yoga for teachers and students for more than a decade. In this session Educators will leave with effective tools that can be used in any setting at anytime. The educators will learn how to align breathing techniques with movement that immediately improve focus and they will discover the dynamic relationship between the body, spine, emotions, thoughts and actions. We will break down the understanding of Neurodevelopment to gain an understanding of the impact of trauma in various stages- and how to implement trauma sensitive practices. As a former Educator of 10 years I learned quickly that self regulation and stress management was a missing piece among teachers and students and I've dedicated my hearts work to these practices for self growth, focus and a new confidence.
